Oh Christmas Tree

A Seguin tradition is to border the downtown square with Christmas trees, and different businesses and organizations can each participate in decorating one.  Cris' work, Teatro de Artes, got one such tree.  Cris wanted their tree to be homemade, and feel very cultural - and he came up with some great ideas.  He helped the kids make Ojos de Dios ornaments, papel picado, and he cut out some real Mexican, sombrero wearing ginger-bread men.  Cris, our rommate Cheryl and I went out to the square, to decorate our homemade tree amongst the bling-bling trees of hair salon ladies and banks.  The tree is a little soaked, and droopier now (due to all the Washington rain that has come our way), but it still looks like the colorful, playful, cultural tree it started out as.
