White Elephant, Round 2

Cris and I had another White Elephant party this weekend - slated as the "Best White Elephant Ever!"  And Cris' cousins Cintia and Crystal really did pull out all the stops to make a super fancy party.  Cris and I are used to white elephant parties being about giving stupid, useless gifts (like stool softener, and cat calendars).  Cintia's, however, went to a more sophisticated level - with a $20 cap on presents.  Cris and I decided to get creative, and make some wall art.  Cris had the great idea (after seeing it at his coworker Emily's house), to glue crayons at the top of canvas.  Using a hairdryer, we melted the crayons, letting the colorful wax do its magic.

During the party, our crayons were the steal of the night.  After 4 people stealing it, Cintia won out and kept it for herself.  Cris ended up with one of those pointless gifts Cintia had bought, thinking someone would hate it.  But he loved it!  It's a huge fish pillow he lovingly named Oscar.  The San Anotnio Fam definitely outdid themselves.  Food and drinks enough for the whole block, awesome gifts, a 9 foot tree, and hookah.

Cris and I managed to still bring our clumsiness along with us (Cris swears my bad luck is rubbing off on him).  Excited about a hookah bubble I made, I threw my arms up in excitement - mouthpiece still in hand.  I managed to knock the hookah over, charcoal falling onto the coffee table and burning a hole in it.  An hour later, Cris came out of the bathroom - broom in hand, and a look on his face that I had on mine an hour earlier.  He had accidentally bumped into Cintia's glass shelf, and it shattered to the floor.  In addition to getting our melted crayons, Cintia also got some IOUs in the form of labor to paint her room.
